Er:YAG Crystals
The wavelength of Er: YAG laser is 2.94 microns, Compared with 10.6 microns of carbon dioxide laser, this wavelength of laser is more easily absorbed by water, Ca, P, etc. It is mostly used for incision and removal of water-rich body soft tissue and osteotomy, and its performance is greatly improved, better than CO2 laser knives.
At present, there are many studies on the use of Er:YAG lasers to replace high-speed turbo dental drills in the treatment of periodontal disease, and implement cutting of the hard tissue of the tooth. This aspect has application prospects for the removal of joint loose bodies, inflammatory synovium removal, meniscectomy, and Percutaneous lumbar disc decompression, etc.
Er:YAG Crystals (Erbium-doped Yttrium Aluminium Garnet ) is an excellent laser crystal of 2.94μm. Its widely applied in medical laser systems of laser surgery, dental, otolaryngology, and Laser cosmetology etc.
Advantages:
- Eye safe
- High slope efficiency
- Working well at room temperature
- Wide pumping band 600nm-800nm
Er:YAG Crystals Main Application
-
CW and Q-switched eye-safe (~1,6 μm) in-band pumped lasers with nearly quantum defect limited efficiency for military applications including LIDAR, telemetry, or active imaging
-
Channel waveguide eye-safe (~1,6 µm) in-band pumped lasers with diffraction-limited output for long-distance telemetry and ranging
-
